Rachael Logsdon will share with us her quilting journey and lessons learned while quilting. You can check out her amazing work here!
In collage quilting, tiny pieces of fabric are assembled and glued onto a base fabric to create an image. Then a quilt “sandwich” is made by sewing the top to batting and a backing fabric using free motion quilting. It’s a time-consuming process and well worth the wait. It’s “sew” much fun to watch the images take on a personality as the piece progresses. My goal is always to make the image even more pleasing than the original photo. I focus on thread painting and collage, and am always trying to learn new things to improve the quality of my art.
